Flood Resiliency Study Meeting

A Flood Resiliency Study team will meet with the public on June 11th in Brunswick.  Federal and state officials are hosting a public outreach meeting to discuss progress on the flood resiliency study.

The study area is along the bank of the Missouri River and bordered by the Grand and Chariton Rivers. This area includes the city of Brunswick and the area behind the Missouri River Levee System within Chariton County.

Hosted by the Kansas City District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the meeting will be held at the Brunswick R-II Junior and Senior High School Auditorium.  Doors open at 4:45 p.m. and the meeting begins at 5 p.m.

The Corps of Engineers will provide an update on the study’s progress since March on alternatives development, including newly developed maps that show each alternative. A roundtable discussion will be held after the presentation to answer questions and receive public and local stakeholder feedback. While the meeting will adjourn at 7 p.m., the Missouri Department of Natural Resources will be available for further conversation until 8 p.m.
