Lane Swap Planned For US 36 Under Chillicothe Bridges

Single-lane traffic under US 65 and the Railroad Bridge on US 36 will continue through the July 4th holiday.  Missouri Department of Transportation says on Monday, they will have a traffic lane switch.

Currently, drivers are using the passing lane or inside lane as they travel through the workzone.  On Monday, the contractor will move the traffic to the driving lane or outside lane, allowing them to complete the resurfacing project.

All work for the resurfacing and pavement improvement project is expected to be completed by the end of July.

The clearance under the US 65 bridge is currently lowered to 14 feet, 6 inches on US 36 westbound and 14 feet, 4 inches on US 36 eastbound. Drivers of over-height loads may use the off/on ramps at US 65 to navigate around the temporary restriction. Message boards and signage will be in place, in both directions, to alert travelers. A 10-foot width restriction remains in place.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
