Juvenile Injured in Crash with Suspected Drunk Driver in Caldwell County

A juvenile from Breckenridge Missouri suffered moderate injuries Friday evening when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle whose driver was arrested on suspicion of felony driving while intoxicated on US 36 in Caldwell County.

 

The collision occurred on US 36 eastbound at Kidder Junction, one mile south of Kidder, at 10:22 pm. Torey Lenz, age 35, of Curtis, Nebraska, was allegedly traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of US 36 when his vehicle struck the juvenile’s car, which was traveling eastbound.

 

Lenz’s vehicle struck the eastbound car head on, causing the vehicle to go off the highway and into a field on the south side of the highway. The juvenile was transported by Cameron Ambulance to Children’s Mercy Hospital of Kansas City.

 

Lenz was arrested for suspicion of felony driving while intoxicated, causing serious physical injury, driving the wrong direction on a divided highway, and also cited for not wearing a seat belt. The juvenile was wearing a seat belt.
