Plane Lands In Cornfield On Way To Chillicothe For Fuel

A plane headed for the Chillicothe airport for fuel came up short and landed in a Sullivan County cornfield Sunday.  The Missouri Highway Patrol reported the pilot, 69-year-old Richard Duncan of Tulsa Oklahoma was flying from Oshkosh, WI to Tulsa, with a fuel stop planned in Chillicothe.  The fixed-wing, single-engine plane, landed in a cornfield north of Timber Road and west of West Locust Creek.

Duncan was the only one in the plane and he was not injured.

The Highway Patrol noted there was minor to no damage to the aircraft. The investigation will be conducted by the FAA and NTSB.
