Chillicothe’s newest ambulance will be delivered to Chillicothe and put in service later this week. Chillicothe Fire Chief Eric Reeter says the ambulance is on display at the Missouri Emergency Medical Services Association Conference. The ambulance is a remount, which means it is an older box, mounted to a new chassis.
Reeter says the company took the box off of a 2015 chassis and stripped it down to bare metal, then put it on the new chassis. He says it is a completely new unit but significantly cheaper by reusing the box.
