The Lillian DesMarias Youth Library will be closed until further notice as contractors fix plumbing and sewer issues. Library Director Sue Lightfoot-Horine explains, “The Library Board and Administration values the health and safety of the library staff and patrons. The noxious odors, having to cut off the water supply, and construction noise levels made it unsafe and unsanitary for patrons and library staff to be present in the building.”
The repair and maintenance project is expected to take another week. The Youth Library Staff will be housed and assisting patrons at the Main Library during this time.
