Over the Labor Day holiday, Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox officially retired after serving the citizens of Livingston County as Sheriff for 23 years. Cox says the Department went from being financially underfunded and understaffed, to his leaving the department with a well-trained group of deputies and employees thanks to a county with financial reserves.
September 1st also marked the first day for Dustin Woelfle as Livingston County Sheriff. Cox says he is proud of Woelfle. Cox says he had the opportunity to see Woelfle grow through the academy and as a deputy and then a sergeant with the department. He says Woelfle has many excellent ideas to help improve services and the entire office.
