On Wednesday evening, the CHS girls tennis team traveled to Savannah to begin Midland Empire Conference play. Because of the new district realignment, this dual also mattered for eventual district seeding in October. Despite Savannah graduating their top three varsity spots like Chillicothe did, the returning Savage veterans proved themselves in both doubles and singles. The final varsity team score was 1-8 with sophomore Jasmine McLean earning the lady hornets a singles win during a solid showing in the #5 spot.
While the score turned out lopsided, every lady hornet played strong matches, going to deuce in most games. The JV team also got to play all 25 team members since Savannah fielded just as large of a squad. Results were as follows:
