The Chillicothe Hornets cross country team went to St. Joseph for a beautiful MEC meet at MoWest, and likely one of the warmest at 83 degrees.
The Hornets performed well, coming home with 7 All-Conference runners, a Boy’s Runner Up finish, and a 3-peat Conference Champ, as Luke Thompson won conference for the 3rd year in a row!
The boys didn’t let Benton run away with the title, falling to them by only 2 points. Chillicothe’s #4 & 5 boys, Zeph O’Berry & Trace Akers, battled to finish in front of Benton’s #5, which they hadn’t done yet this year. The Hornets will see them again at Districts and are very much looking forward to another shot at them on the hilly Platte County course.

JV Runners ended their season by dominating the JV race. 4 boys had a top 5 finish, with Alexander England winning it and Ben Cady finishing right behind him.

Districts are November 2nd at Platte Ridge. Chillicothe will run the last races of the day, with Girls running at 12:10 & Boys at 12:50.
