About 30% of the state is listed as Abnormally dry, including East/Southeast Missouri. Nearly 6% of the state is listed as no drought, mainly in Southeast Missouri.
Areas north of the Missouri River range from Abnormally Dry to Moderate Drought, with all of or portions of 10 counties listed with severe drought.
In the local counties, the October 24th Missouri Drought Monitor shows Moderate Drought in all of the local counties, with much of Chariton County as abnormally dry.
