State Troopers responded to three serious injury crashes in the area counties.
Saturday at about 2:25 pm in Linn County, a two-vehicle crash left one driver with serious injuries. State Troopers report 54-year-old Lane Alexander of Louisville, KY was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The report states Alexander was eastbound on US 36 and 71-year-old Richard L. Frazier of Chillicothe was northbound at the Meadville Junction and failed to yield, striking the Alexander vehicle and causing it to overturn. Frazier was not injured. They were wearing safety belts.
Saturday at about 9:57 pm in Daviess County, a UTV accident on Koala Road near Jameson left the driver, 26-year-old Joseph E. Lilly of St. Joseph, with serious injuries. He was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment of serious injuries. According to the report Lilly was northbound and the UTV started to slide, then overturned and struck a fence.
Lilly was also arrested by troopers for alleged DWI and released for treatment.
Early Monday morning, a UTV crash in Polo left the driver and passenger with serious injuries. The crash occurred about 12:40 am as 46-year-old Justin M. Chapman of Polo was southbound in an open field and too fast for the conditions. He struck an embankment and the UTV overturned several times, ejecting the driver and passenger. Chapman was taken to Liberty Hospital, while his passenger, 27-year-old Elizabeth Gutierrez of Holt, was taken to North Kansas City Hospital.
State Troopers also arrested a Cameron man Sunday in Linn County.
At about 8:34 pm, Troopers arrested 18-year-old Okan J. Dincer of Cameron for alleged speeding and possession of marijuana. He was processed and released.
