Renovations that will start soon at the Livingston County Courthouse will address a variety of issues. One of them is security. Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas says in early January they will begin the work to replace the courthouse doors. When the work is complete, Douglas says they will limit the access to the courthouse to just one entrance.
Douglas says the currently have security on Court Days. Beginning sometime in December, they will have a full-time security person at the courthouse, through the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department. Douglas says the need for the security is something they have known for some time.
Douglas asks those visiting the courthouse to be patient over the next sever al months as they will be a variety of work taking place.
