A traffic stop for speeding on US 36 last Friday resulted in an arrest. Sheriff Steve Cox says the deputy attempted to stop the eastbound vehicle for alleged 86 in a 65 near the Utica Junction. They had also received reports from the public about the vehicle driving in an unsafe manner. The deputy finally stopped the vehicle near US 36 and 65.
Cox says the deputy found the driver and passenger were allegedly very intoxicated. The deputy was assisted by Chillicothe Officers and the Highway Patrol as the driver refused to cooperate.
The officers arrested 35 year old Riak Deng of Kansas City for alleged DWI, driving while revoked and other traffic offenses. He is held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail with bond set at $25,000
