The number of fatalities resulting from traffic crashes investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol was three in the 30-hour holiday period. The Troopers handled a total of 65 crashes resulting in 38 injuries and three deaths. All three, a woman and two children, were in one vehicle that struck a tree in St. Francois County.
The Highway Patrol reports the 2023 Christmas holiday included 124 crashes, 71 injured and 2 fatalities.
DWI arrests for the holiday were also down. In 2024, there were 17 DWI’s, compared to 81 in 2023.
