The evaluation of the Chillicothe R-II Food Service program included meals served and participation in the Free and Reduced Meal program. The report presented to the School Board on Tuesday showed across the district, breakfast numbers are up about 1,500 from the start of the school year, while lunch numbers are down just over 2,000 for the same period.
The report also showed that the Free and Reduced Price Meal program is being used by the district, with participation up about 3.4% from a year ago. The report shows about 66% of breakfasts and 55% of lunches are covered by the program.
Superintendent Dr Dan Wiebers says they continue to encourage parents to fill out the forms for Free and Reduced Priced Lunch and Breakfast.
Can provide meals and state and federal funding.
Dr Wiebers says the district does not share the information and the students are not identified in any way if they are utilizing the program.
They receive their meal and it is scanned like any other student.
