Braymer Removed From CLAA

The Carroll-Livingston Activities Association voted Thursday to remove Braymer from the conference. Braymer had been suspended in January as a result of two incidents that happened during basketball games in December, as well as previous recurring problems and the involvement of law enforcement. The CLAA indicated the incidents involved athletes, coaches and spectators.

On February 6th the Executive Committee, comprised of the 12 conference superintendents, voted to remove Braymer from all conference activities effective immediately by a vote of 10-2. The schools in the CLAA, which all had a vote in the matter, were Bosworth, Braymer, Breckenridge, Brunswick, Hale, Hardin-Central, Higbee, Keytesville, Norborne, Northwestern, Southwest, and Tina-Avalon.

Braymer C-4 Superintendent, Daniel Street, released a statement following the vote expressing disappointment with the outcome. Street stated Braymer has been proactive in exploring and securing possible opportunities for their students moving forward.
