In the Class 2 Boys Wrestling State Tournament this week in Columbia, two Chillicothe Hornets secured medals with their performance.
In the 190 division, Tucker Slattery won his first two matches to advance to the semifinals, where he was taken down by Jace Renfro of Seneca, who ultimately won the state tournament. Slattery finished 3-2 overall at state, including a win by decision in the 5th place match.
Bo Smith at 285 entered the state tournament undefeated on the season, and continued that trend in his first two matches before losing in the semifinal by decision to Jacob Schweigert of Ste. Genevieve who also entered undefeated. Schweigert would go on to win state. Smith was forced to medical forfeit in his final two matches, landing in 6th place at state.
