High winds could be a factor for the northern part of Missouri and the National Weather Service issued two warnings and an advisory beginning tonight.
Blizzard Warning for NW MO – including Caldwell and Daviess 9:00 pm Tues to 5:00 am Wed
Blizzard conditions are expected. Total snow accumulations up to 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 70 mph. Whiteout conditions are expected. Travel will likely be extremely hazardous. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage.
High Wind Warning for All of NW MO – Caldwell, Carroll, Daviess, Grundy, Linn, Livingston, and Sullivan Counties 9:00 pm Tues to 6:00 pm Wed Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected.
Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
Wind Advisory for the remainder of Missouri, including Chariton County. Locally that is in effect from 9:00 pm Tues to 6:00 pm Wed Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.
