Lady Hornets Volleyball Earns Big Time Win Over Leblond

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets traveled to Bishop Leblond on Thursday night for one of their toughest tests of the season. Leblond finished in the top 3 of the MEC standings last season and just as recently as last weekend, had beaten Chillicothe in the championship game of the Chillicothe Invitational volleyball tournament. Even on the road, Coach Beetsma and the Lady Hornets were unfazed. Chillicothe won the first set 25-20, then after grabbing the Golden Eagles attention, narrowly made it a 2-0 margin with a 25-23 win in the 2nd set. Bishop Leblond did not go away quitely as Chillicothe dropped the 3rd set 22-25, but the Lady Hornets finished the job in the 4th with a 25-22 win to take the match 3-1.

Coach Lanie Beetsma said afterward, “it was a heck of a great ballgame” as the Lady Hornets improve 9-2 overall and 1-1 in the MEC after the big win at Bishop Leblond.
