Serious Injury Crashes

State Troopers reported two serious injury crashes in the area counties Friday.

 

An 18-year-old man had serious injuries in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Linn County Friday morning.  State Troopers report Ransom C. Wood of Browning was flown to University Hospital in Columbia following the crash at about 3:30 am, on Route M, 8 miles north of Brookfield.

The report states Wood was northbound and fell asleep, ran off the road and the car overturned.  He was not wearing a safety belt.

 

A two-vehicle crash near Mendon left a driver and passenger with serious injuries.  State Troopers report the crash occurred at about 7:00 pm Friday on Highway 11, east of Mendon, in Chariton County.  According to the report, a car driven by 56-year-old Amy McCampbell of Mendon pulled into the path of a pick-up driven by 49-year-old Christopher Lewis of Mendon.

A five-year-old passenger in the McCampbell vehicle was flown to University Hospital in Columbia – the child was not properly restrained.  McCampbell was also taken to University Hospital.  Both were treated for serious injuries.

Lewis was not injured.
