Chillicothe R-II School District’s Alternative Method of Instruction or AMI Plan required school board approval before submitting it to the state. Superintendent Dr Dan Wiebers says this was a change from previous years.

The AMI plan states “Chillicothe R-II School District will focus on reviewing, reinforcing, enriching, and introducing District-approved grade-level/content priority standards aligned to Missouri Learning Standards for instructional content on all AMI days.”
Dr Wiebers says the plan is essentially the same as it had been in the previous years, and while the plan had been in place, the 2024/25 school year was the first time it had been used.
