A narrow bridge in the curve of the road that crosses a creek will be replaced by MoDOT contractors beginning July 7th. The Bridge is on Highway 190, just east of a railroad bridge and Route V. The Clear Creek bridge was built in 1932 and carries approximately 1100 vehicles per day.
Replacement of the bridge is due to age and poor conditions.
Capital Paving & Construction will build the new bridge, which is wider and will include guard rails, at an estimated cost of $1.72 million.
When work begins, Traffic will need to find an alternate route. MoDOT suggests US 65, to Missouri Highway 6.
Work is expected to be complete in early November.
