The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission approved the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program for 2026-2030. The plan includes $13.3 billion for transportation requirements.
The Northwest District plan includes all of the local counties, with projects over the 5-year period of just over half a billion dollars.
Projects planned in Livingston County in the next five years include:
Upgrading pedestrian facilities on US 65 at locations in Chillicothe at a cost of $382,000. To be awarded next February.
Intersection improvements on US 36 at Route B near Wheeling at a cost of just over $3 million. To be awarded in 2027.
Intersection improvements on US 36 at Mitchell Road in Chillicothe at a cost of nearly $3.9 million. To be awarded in 2027.
Bridge replacement on Route DD over Shoal Creek Drainage at a cost of just over $2.8 million. To be awarded in 2029.
