The Livingston County 4H and FFA Fair closed Friday night with the annual Premium Auction. Fair Board President Jennifer Horton says 126 items were sold, including broiler chickens, bacon, ham, rabbits, beef, swine, sheep, and goats. The auction brought in $133,308, for an average per item of $1,058.
As a premium auction, the buyers do not take home their winning. These are donations to support the youth and help cover the costs associated with their animals. The youth keep the animals, allowing them to continue showing them, if they choose.
This is another example of the community supporting the youth.
