DNR Provides “Landowner’s Guide to Stream Management”

Best practices and methods for stream management is the topic of a new online resource for landowners from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR).  “A Landowner’s Guide to Stream Management” details strategies for preventing eroding banks, property loss, excessive gravel, and other challenges.

The guide was developed in response to concerns from farmers and landowners who face growing property loss from past riparian corridor damages and historical land use changes.

Noah Cadwell from the DNR’s Waters Resources Center says this guide is designed to clarify the fundamentals of stream regulation for landowners and to explain what options may be available for different situations.

The new Landowner’s Guide to Stream Management is available for download from the DNR.
