No Make-Up Days For Chillicothe R-II School District

The Chillicothe R-II School District will not be making up snow days at the end of the school year.  Superintendent Dr. Dan Wiebers says the decision, made after careful consideration and consultation with the Board of Education, and aims to help families plan for childcare, appointments, and vacations, without rescheduling because of make-up days.

Wiebers says, “Due to harsh winter conditions, including blizzards and dangerously cold temperatures, the district has canceled school for nine days this year.”

Despite using the six AMI days and having an additional day built into the calendar to take advantage of an attendance bonus, the district is currently two days beyond the requirement for the bonus.

In addition, the district will not make up any future weather-related cancellations.
