The remaining Midland Empire Conference basketball teams lost in the first round of the Class 4 State Tournament on Tuesday night.
St Joseph Benton fell behind early and lost to KC Lincoln College Prep 51-34. KC Lincoln will face a team that Chillicothe Lady Hornets faced in the regular season. Kearney had few problems beating 22-4 Nevada 53-33. KC Lincoln and Kearney play on March 9th at 2:45pm in the quarterfinals.
On the Class 4 Boys tournament, KC Southeast picked up a 66-55 win over MEC Boys Champions St Joseph Lafayette. Southeast at 24-4 takes on Grandview, which beat Raytown South by two points.
