The Chillicothe city Council approved an $18 million dollar budget Monday night. City Auditor Teresa Kelly presented the budget for approval.
The budget also includes a new small ladder truck for the fire department and five new police cars. First Ward Councilman Denny Albertson talked about the police cars.
Kelly says the budget is up about $5 million dollars, primarily due to the $4 million dollar project for the airport runway required by MoDOT.
