Chillicothe Fire Fighters responded to a Gas Leak reported at 10 Hickory Street Wednesday morning. The call came in at 10:30 am from M&M Utility, who is working on the Curb and Gutter project on Hickory Street. The report states they had been pulling up a piece of concrete and pulled up the main gas line.
The Fire Department arrived in a few minutes and found equipment had been shut down and a nearby business was evacuated.
Liberty Gas arrived in a few minutes and turned off the gas. The contractor dug out the area of the break and repairs were made.
The fire crew returned to service after about an hour.
