Flood levels continue to drop at Sumner and Brunswick.
The Grand River at Sumner has dropped to 28.7 feet overnight and continues to fall. That’s another drop of nearly 4 feet from Wednesday morning. Flood Stage at Sumner is 26 feet and the river is expected to drop below that level early this afternoon.
At Sumner, the river is falling much slower. The river was at 30.6 feet Wednesday evening, and is forecast to be at 30 feet this morning. Flood stage at Brunswick is 19 feet and the flooding will continue until Sunday morning.
Flooding Continues To Cause Travel Problems
Travelers in the southern part of the listening area will find several roads that are still closed. The closures are mainly in Carroll and Chariton Counties. Many of the areas are closed from flooding on the Missouri River or waters backed up into other rivers and creeks.
