A Chula woman had minor injuries in an accident on US 36 near Stewartsville Wednesday morning. State Troopers report 80-year-old Rita Jacobs was westbound on US 36 when she ran into the back of a trailer pulled by an SUV that was also westbound. The crash caused the SUV to jack-knife, go off the north side of the road and overturn, coming to rest on its top. Jacobs was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the SUV, 78-year-old Ronald Nichols of Jamesport, was not injured. They were both wearing safety belts.
