A section of Highway 24 in Chariton County is once again open to travelers. The Missouri Department of Transportation says both lanes of US Route 24 between Route 11 at Brunswick and Route 41 at DeWitt opened Thursday afternoon after floodwaters receded and the roadway was clear.
Several other roads remain closed due to high water including Route 41 to Miami, Route 10 West of Carrollton and route 65 from Carrollton to Waverly.
