LCSO Mid Month Investigations & Arrests

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department had several investigations and a couple arrests earlier in the month.

July 13th, deputies received part of a video recording system from a resident in eastern Livingston County. The system may have been removed from an unknown location during a crime. The department is attempting to access the hard drive for additional information.

July 13th, Deputies began an investigation of stealing, where the victim reported $100 was stolen from his wallet. Sheriff Steve Cox says the investigation shows one person had the opportunity to remove the money.  They were charged with alleged Stealing.

July 15th, an investigation began on a bond condition violation.  The person was on bond for an alleged drug crime. Cox says their investigation showed evidence of methamphetamine and marijuana use.

July 16th, deputies began an investigation of alleged assault in Utica.  The victim claimed an elderly man struck her with a cane and broom. They are attempting to interview the other person.

Arrests:
July 15th, deputies arrested 18 year old Hunter Lee Forrest Burns of Purdin on Livingston County arrest warrant for alleged Violation of Bond Conditions on original Possession Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine. He was held at the Daviess Dekalb Regional Jail.

Also on July 15th, deputies arrested 61 year old Virel Van Johnson of Chillicothe as he was sentenced to the Missouri Department of Corrections for treatment on DWI.
