MoDOT contractors have been working nights to prepare US 65 for Micro Surfacing of the roadway. Resident Engineer James Gillespie says the crews have been busy fixing the worst parts of the road, and patches can be seen as you drive through Chillicothe.
Gillespie says over the next couple of weeks, crews will remove the existing pavement markings in preparation for a scrub seal to be completed August 8th to the 15th.
Temporary pavement markings will then be installed for the 30-day period the scrub seal must cure prior to the micro-resurfacing.
Similar work is also taking place on Route M from just north of Brookfield to Route 11. Crews expect to have all work completed in late September.
