Drivers headed out for the Labor Day weekend will find less work taking place, but should stay aware for some work zones. MoDOT says most construction projects that would impact travel lanes will stop at noon Friday and resume at 9:00 am Tuesday. Lane and bridge closures already in place around the state will remain during the holiday weekend. They remind you to stay alert for sudden closures due to emergency situations and flooding.
Even with limited work zones, MoDOT is urging motorists to use caution when traveling. Be alert and obey all posted speed limits. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says all available troopers will be patrolling Missouri’s roadways, enforcing Missouri’s speed-limit, seat-belt and impaired-driving laws, in addition to being available to assist motorists.
