The Chillicothe Hornets Football team struck on the ground and through the air in a 20-7 win at Marshall.
The Owls took the opening drive of the game to the end zone, covering 65 yards in 9 plays with a 13 yard touchdown pass for a 7-0 lead.
Chillicothe responded on their first possession with a 12 play 65 yard drive that ended with a Jaden Winder 4 yard run to tie the score.
The big play of the night came with 3:45 left in the first half when Winder went deep through the air and connected with Kam Ward who caught it and ran it into the end zone for a 52 yard touchdown pass play.
Chillicothe scored again late in the game with 1:32 left on a Jaden Winder run for the final 20-7 score.
Unofficial KCHI stats had Chillicothe with 48 carries and 236 yards on the ground and 4 of 8 passing for 92 yards in the air.
Chillicothe hosts Kirksville next Friday for the Hornets home opener of the season.
