A Brookfield couple were arrested Friday night on a warrant for alleged second-degree Murder and Child Abuse and Neglect resulting in the death of the child. Fifty-year-old Nancy Royal and 48-year-old Darrel Royal were arrested following the investigation of the 11-year-old boy’s death on February 9th.
The Brookfield Police received the autopsy results and completed the investigation that lead the prosecuting attorney to charge the couple with alleged Second Degree Murder, Abuse or Neglect of a Child resulting in Death, Abuse or Neglect of a Child resulting in Serious Physical Injury, Abuse or Neglect of a Child and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Brookfield Police made the arrest at 9:30 pm Friday. They were taken to the Macon County Jail and are held with no bond allowed.
