A woman was injured when she was hit by a vehicle in downtown Chillicothe Friday morning. Chillicothe Police responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at Jackson and Washington Street. The accident happened just after 11:00 am when Christiana George-Spainhour was northbound on Washington and stopped for the red light. She told officers she had looked for traffic and pedestrians before making a right turn and was unable to see the pedestrian that stepped out from behind a large signal control box. The pedestrian also failed to see the vehicle and according to the report, stepped into the side of the vehicle as it turned. The pedestrian was transported to Hedrick Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries to her leg.
