A motorcycle accident near Polo early this morning left an Excelsior Springs man with serious injuries. Thirty-five-year-old Dustin Cope was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment following the accident at about 2:25 am on Fawn Lake Drive. According to the Highway Patrol, Cope was northbound and began to slide on gravel and lost control of the bike, which overturned and he and his passenger were ejected. The passenger on the bike was not injured. They were wearing helmets.
