A motorcycle rider from Richmond was flown to Truman Medical Center with serious injuries following an accident on Missouri 116 in Caldwell County. The accident happened Saturday at about 8:30 pm, just west of Cowgill, when 46-year-old Michael Milligan of Richmond was westbound on a motorcycle and crossed the centerline, hitting an eastbound car on the front fender. Milligan then crossed the westbound lane and went into the ditch and was ejected from the bike.
Milligan was also arrested for alleged DWI, failing to drive on the right half of the road and no insurance. He was released to be taken to the hospital.
The driver of the car was not injured.
