The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Tennis team had the top two district singles players and the top doubles team in the individual singles and doubles tournament held over the weekend.
#1 Doubles Hunter Keithley and Hannah Zimmerman were champions. They had a first round bye, beat Trenton 6-1, 6-3, beat Carrollton 6-1, 6-0 and beat another Trenton team 6-1, 6-3 for the district doubles championship.
Macy Cavanah beat team mate Delaney May for the singles title.
Cavanah had a first round bye, beat Lexington 6-0, 6-0, beat Trenton 6-0, 6-0 then beat May 6-2, 6-1.
Delaney May beat Trenton 6-2, 6-3, beat Richmond 6-2, 6-4 and beat Excelsior Springs 6-0, 6-1 before losing to Cavanah in the championship match.
#2 doubles Megan Sisson and Leah Lourenco beat a Lexington team 6-1, 6-0 then lost to the eventual second place team from Trenton 2-6, 1-6.
The Champions and runners up in singles and doubles will play sectional matches Wednesday at 4:00pm. The entire team travels to Pembroke Hill on Saturday for team sectionals.
