Chillicothe City Council Discusses Street Projects

Three Street projects were discussed by the City Council on Monday.

In the Workshop session, City Administrator Darin Chappell told the council the contractor was in Chillicothe to review the street overlay work that was done on 1st and 2nd Streets.  Chappell says after negotiations, they agreed to come back in the sporing and put an additional 1 ½ inches of asphalt on the streets.  He says the city will also work to address the drainage issues in that area.

In the regular session:

The Council approved an ordinance to accept an agreement with Allgeier Martin to oversee the construction phase of the Litton Road Project.  That project includes a Litton Road from Trenton Road to Mohawk.  The cost of overseeing the construction is $4,500.

The Council also approved having Allgeier Martin to handle the Design and Bidding phases of the South Mitchell concrete street project.  The work will take place from the railroad tracks to Ryan Lane.  The cost of the design and bidding phase is $95,000.
