State Troopers report one accident and one arrest over the weekend in the area counties.
A Bethany woman was injured when she hit a deer while on Interstate 35 Saturday morning. State Troopers report 23-year-old Tiara Ward of Bethany was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment following the accident about 6:30 am. The report states Ward was northbound at the 63-mile marker of Interstate 35, when she struck the deer with her car. Ward was wearing a safety belt.
An Illinois man was arrested on drug-related charges Sunday evening in Caldwell County. State Troopers report 55-year-old Todd Wriedt of Peoria, IL was arrested at about 6:15 pm for alleged possession of methamphetamine, DWI with drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding and following to close.
He was held at the Caldwell County Detention Center.
