Livingston County residents will soon find their Real Estate and Personal Property Tax Statements in their mailbox. The statements were mailed Friday and Collector/Treasurer Paula McCoy says those taxes need to be paid by December 31st to avoid any late penalties. You must also pay any previous unpaid taxes before they will accept the current payment.
McCoy also reminds those coming to the courthouse to pay their taxes, the courthouse has full-time security and you must enter through the North Door, closest to Webster Street. With the security, they will check all purses, backpacks and other bags brought into the courthouse. To make the stop at the courthouse easier, she suggests leaving those items locked in your vehicle. Bring in only your checkbook, wallet, cash or whatever is necessary to conduct the transaction.
If you have questions, call the courthouse at 646-8000.
