Chillicothe firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle fire in a cornfield on LIV 228. The call came in Thursday at about 2:30 pm and they arrived 16 minutes later to find the vehicle fully involved and the driver out of the vehicle. They also found ¾ of an acre of the corn stubble on fire. The Brush truck was dispatched to respond to the scene.
The fire crew used about 375 gallons of water to put out the fire and the fire crew began using rakes to control the fire in the field. The brush truck arrived and the crews used about 100 gallons of water, rakes and leaf blowers to clear the dorn stubble near the fire to prevent the spread of the fire.
The fire crews were on the scene for about 80 minutes
