Rain will bring a coating of ice and then transition to snow as a Winter Storm moves into the KCHI listening area this evening. A Winter Storm Warning is issued from 6:00 this evening until 6:00 Saturday evening. National Weather Service Meteorologist Pamela Pietrycha says freezing rain will be the concern early.
Pietrycha says this storm will be a one-two punch, with both the freezing rain and the snow causing travel problems. If you must travel, use caution and allow plenty of time to reach your destination.
She says this system could linger a bit as it moves through.
The Winter Storm Warnings covers all of the western and northwest parts of Missouri. For the KCHI listening area, it begins at 6:00 pm today and runs through 6:00 pm Saturday. KCHI will be watching this storm and will have updates throughout the day today.
