The Chillicothe Hornets boys basketball team scored the first points in the game and beat Maryville 62-50 to win the Cameron Tournament for the first time since 2007.
Hornets Coach Tim Cool knew this would be a battle.
C. J. Pfaff led Chillicothe with 24 points and 9 rebounds, Westley Brandsgaard with 18, Bradley Riley and Griff Bonderer each with 9, Mason Baxter with 2 and playing time for Hayden Simmer and Cayden Potter.
Chillicothe is now 14-3 and on a 9 games win streak.
