Linn County authorities are pursuing charges against the Brookfield man who was arrested February 11th after leading authorities on a chase that ended in Saline County. Thirty-seven-year-old Matthew Guilford of Brookfield faces five felony counts for his actions. They include:
Alleged assault on a Law Enforcement Officer by using his pickup in an attempt to cause serious physical injury to State Trooper causing the officer to flee into the median to avoid being struck.
Alleged Armed Criminal Action by using the Pickup in an attempt to cause serious physical injury to a Trooper on US 36.
Alleged Resisting Arrest by failing to stop for law enforcement and created a substantial risk of serious physical injury or death.
Alleged Resisting Arrest by knowingly interfering with law enforcement officers attempting to make an arrest by fleeing.
Alleged Possession of Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine.
A report was also sent to the Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney for consideration of charges.
