A flash of light streaks across the sky and it is followed by a low rumble or a loud boom. Lightning is one of the more dangerous aspects of storms. National Weather Service Meteorologist Jimmie Barham says Lightning is quite dangerous and often under-rated in a thunderstorm.
Barham says the safest place to be in a lightning storm is indoors.
