The Chillicothe Lady Hornets Basketball team is in sectional competition tonight in the Class 3 State Tournament, when they take on the Macon Lady Tigers.
This state tournament first round game is a rematch from the regular season when Macon beat Chillicothe 67-52 on December 15th.
Macon jumped out to a 13 point lead in the first quarter of the regular season meeting. Chillicothe closed it to six points in the second and four points in the fourth quarter, but could not take the lead.
Lady Hornets Coach Darren Smith says there is a reason why he is optimistic about the outcome of tonight’s game.
Chillicothe is 20-7 on the season and beat Lexington, Carrollton and Trenton in their district tournament.
Macon is 22-4. In the district tournament hey had a first round bye, beat Hallsville and beat Palmyra which finished at 22-4. Macon has won 16 games in a row. Tip off at Moberly Area Community College tonight is 6:30. The KCHI pre-game show begins at 6:15
